Sightseeing in Leeds: Classical Fantasia - Kirkstall Abbey - Leeds

Classical Fantasia is one of the best evenings out on the Leeds calendar, and what's more tickets are completely free. The event takes place in Kirkstall Abbey at the end of September every year, and it seems to be just as summer is convincingly turning into Autumn everytime. Anyway, an evening in the beautiful settings of Kirkstall Abbey with wine, food and a flask of warm coffee while having an orchestra perform classical music for you is pretty magical by anyone's standards whatever the weather.

I'm afraid the picture quality isn't great here, since I only had my phone with me that night, which is a shame because not only is classical fantasia an evening of music, its usually pretty liberal with the fireworks as well.

At the start of the evening everyone gets settled in, getting their chairs and tables out, drinks, snacks, nibbles and goodies. If you're sat on a wet floor with a can of beer and a packet of crisps you can almost smell the smugness of those around you who were better prepared.
